Jorge Bourdieu

Our expert Head Sommelier, Jorge, loves sharing his wine knowledge, and is passionate about showcasing the very best of Argentine wine for the Vida Wines community. He is a Professor at Escuela Argentina de Vinos, one of Argentina’s most prominent and well-respected wine schools, driven by an enthusiasm to empower the next generation of sommeliers. There, he teaches a variety of courses to students earning their sommelier degree, as well as courses focused on Argentine wines for international students.

Jorge previously worked in a variety of roles in wineries throughout Argentina and as a Tasting Editor for Austral Spectator guide. He has served as a judge in national and international competitions, including the competition for Best Sommelier in Argentina.

Jorge also lived for four years in the UK, where he honed his knowledge of Old World wines, especially Bordeaux, his favorite wine. He now lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina with his wife, daughter, and two Siamese cats, Mau and Kata. He is an avid traveler, passionate about animals, and a hard-core music lover (ask him anything about classic rock).
